Cloning Gnome 2 by frogfrosch23 Cloning Gnome 2 by frogfrosch23
Once again I tried to copy Gnome 2 using the Xfce desktop. It turned out better this time.

I set up Xfce to look like Gnome2 still today, yet without the System menu (or launcher in your case) and themed decently :D

Nice work. =)
I just sent you a request to have the screenshot added to the Xfce-Users' gallery. Which, by the way, might be a group of interest for you.

This doable in BSD? I know it is in Linux, but I'm seriously wondering how doable it is to mimic GNOME 2 with Xfce in BSD.

I suppose. As long as Xfce is running on BSD, all the tweaks shown above should work there, too.
Thank you for the fav, btw. :3

How did you make the 3 seperate menus at the top?

There are only to menus, the third is a starter. A renamed applications menu, the places menu and a starter for xfce4-settings-manager without an icon. You can see that more clearly in the video I linked in the description above.

Yeah, that's one of my reasons to love Xfce. =p
Looks good! Even though it is missing the desktop switcher on the bottom right. (Sorry. Sometimes, I tend to nit-pick. No offense.)
