In the top panel, you'll find the menu, a starter for Thunar and the xfce4-mpc-plugin. Also, I placed the desktop pager there.
Yet I hardly use the menu and the starter, I prefer Kupfer to start my programs.
The programs shown are the Gnome terminal (opened by chance, I gave Unity a try before and had not yet altered all default applications) and Thunar.
